The Real Wolverine: Speak Life

Sometime ago I shared with you about the plight of one certain animal name The Wolverine. I thought I would share with you some video of the real Wolverine. By doing so it will shed light on … reality.

Mind you that Michigan is called the Wolverine State. While at one time the Wolverine roamed freely there is now no record a single creature roaming free in the state. In fact, and as far as this writer knows, the only Wolverines one can see are held captive in the Detroit Zoo in Oakland County Michigan.

It is my hope that people not just in Michigan will start to care about this little creature but people from all walks of life. This creature, this Wolverine like so many creatures of the wilds needs our help. Not just in talk but in deed. This creature, called a Wolverine, needs to be re-introduced into the wilds of the state of Michigan soon. Now, today, ask yourself, ask others how you can help.

In Christian circles we say “Speak Life” but it seems only pertaining  to our self. Why not speak life to the creatures that also inhabits this planet? Lets make a change . Lets make a change starting today.

The following video is about 45 minutes long. If it appears I hope it sheds light on a creature God create for a certain reason and that’s to live. Do we not have the obligation to help it?

REPOST:Protecting the Wolverine

The following is being reposted due to its overwhelming demand. It is my hope that someone, if not everyone take action to protect the Wolverine let alone the Polar Bears and other animals of importance to nature.  Thee article has NOT been altered in any way.

On Friday  I was simply  channel surfing on my television when I caught grown men taking part in the most  gruesome act one could think of: they trapped and murdered a wolverine with a mere pistol at close range. At they end you could hear the men say that the wolverines coat would bring  around four hundred dollars, which makes this act nothing more than a senseless act of what I would classify as pure murder.RSCN0220 - Copy

Why is this so sad?  The only known wolverines in the state of Michigan is now in the Detroit Zoo in Oakland County Michigan. As far as the Department of Natural  Resources now knows the wild population in the state is at zero.

You, as a reader, may disagree with me on this  but here is how I see it: The Wolverines population is rapidly declining. Some of it is due in part to senseless acts as mentioned above. Thus, this animal known as a Wolverine  should be protected and helped so its populations can increase.

Why the people who shot that television series allowed the above mentioned situation to transpire is beyond myself unless they were as greedy as the killers of that poor creature.

What can you do to help?  I think the best thing first is education. Next Some Wolverines need to be transplanted into areas where the population is down. Next would be to impose hefty fines for anyone in the United States and Canada who hunt and trap these animals for a time frame of two hundred to three hundred years; by this time frame perhaps the creature should have time to increase its populations. Then lastly, impose hefty fines on those who accept Wolverine furs as any form of payment.

It is past time that the people  take a little effort and protect what we have around and about us. Think about this: what would the killers of a mere wolverine want to kill next for a few dollars?

Help protect not only the Wolverines of today but of those for ages to come. Let us not allow another Wolverine to be killed for ages to come!

The following is an except from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wolverine

The wolverine, pronounced /ˈwʊlvərn/, Gulo gulo (Gulo is Latin for “glutton”), also referred to as glutton, carcajou, skunk bear, or quickhatch, is the largest land-dwelling species of the family Mustelidae (weasels). It is a stocky and muscular carnivore, more closely resembling a small bear than other mustelids. The wolverine has a reputation for ferocity and strength out of proportion to its size, with the documented ability to kill prey many times its size.

The wolverine can be found primarily in remote reaches of the Northern boreal forests and subarctic and alpine tundra of the Northern hemisphere, with the greatest numbers in northern Canada, the U.S. state of Alaska, the Nordic countries of Europe, and throughout western Russia and Siberia. Their populations have experienced a steady decline since the 19th century in the face of trapping, range reduction and habitat fragmentation, such that they are essentially absent in the southern end of their European range. It is, however, estimated that large populations remain in North America and northern Asia. Wolverines are solitary animals.[2]
