Single or married?

Regardless what race, creed or color of your skin it comes down to this:

Single or married?

If your married there is lots to do. Plus there are hundreds of discounts available. Lets look at a few shall we?

Discounts at theme parks like Cedar Point, Six Flags or at any number of Disney parks.
Discounts for cruises
Perhaps discounts for hotel rooms
Family afternoon/night at movies
Father-son events
Father-daughter dances

The above is only a few. But what about those who are single or divorced?

Divorce support group
Bowling leagues
Softball teams
Single parents events

                                                              But wait! STOP THE PRESSES!

There has to be more for singles right?

Several years ago several Christian had a Friday or Saturday night event. We would get together at some ones house or apartment to watch Christian movies. In time this faded into the sunset like a good Indiana Jones movie.

Lets take a look at churches: How many events and or classes does your place of worship have for singles?

per week?

per month?

per year?

Does it seem that every sermon is direct towards the “family?” Or hints are given to singles that go something like this, “for those who are single, you’ll need this in case you ever get married.”

Lets face the fact: to be single/divorced means you are part of a minority. Of course certain people would/will deny that statement. Yet we all know its true. But, is there hidden benefits to being single? The answer is yes!

Tom Cruise showed us in the movie Top Gun: Yes its nice to run around the house in your underwear. It sure saves on the laundry bill.
Food; you only have to cook for one. Better yet TV dinners have just the right portion and there are no left overs.
Having more time for ministry work or Bible studies.

Yes there are down sides to being single. But that is a situation that many singles work out for themselves as time proceeds forward.

Regardless how much your single a person must not forget that s/he always has one friend for all eternity, “This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you. Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you. These things I command you, that ye love one another.” John 15: 12-17

In closing remember the following whether in the pulpit or not

Single people

are

as human as those who are married.

Remember

I can not frankly recall how far back they must go but I do remember that somewhere I made mention of some new additions to the website. And just in case you missed those entries allow yours truly to remind you to visit the following

Some pages have been redesigned and are worth taking a second or third look act. Furthermore it may be a good idea to bookmark the page or pages you like as I will be editing them in the future.  Please remember that the page Free Graphics is a trial page. and its up to you to see to its future.

Recommened Reading

In our walk with God we are given something special and that is the decision wether to learn more about God or not. For many the choice is simple, they not only want to learn more but they almost crave it. In so doing they pick up the works with the likes of Spurgeon, Sparks and so forth. Why?To gain some knowledge from those who are perhaps a little wiser .

Today’s entry is rather simple: I plan on referring you to material whose authors are much wiser than myself. I hope that you will embark on a journey to grow and mature in your own walk with God.

  1.   The Pursuit of God (The Definitive Classic)
  2.   The Reality of the Cross of Christ (Christian Library)
  3.   The Measure of a Man: Twenty Attributes of A Godly Man
  4.   Why Revival Tarries
  5. The Normal Christian Life

It is not often I recommend books to you so I would hope that you would take the above list and put it aside for a rainy day, perse.. The following book I personally own and suggest you add it to your own library for a time of study in the book of Psalms:

The Treasury of David (3 Volumes Set)

May God open the eyes of your heart to see the very God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob the works of whom has more wisdom than myself.

FOOTNOTE.

Please do not forget about my urgent needs that was mentioned in a previous entry. Please  go to Updates  for more information

Shuttered Doors

2 Corinthians 5:14-15“For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again.”

For several years yours truly has attempted to earn a few dollars for Thunderdome Ministries by having several affiliate stores via Amazon. After years of waiting around for someone to buy something there just was no action whatsoever. Thus the following will be closed effective April 5 2013 at 12:01am Kindle Store, Thunder Mall, Books 4 Sale,,MP3 Store.and Shutterbug store.

An funds from being an affiliate would have gone to Thunderdome Ministries to help curtail any out of pocket expenses. At this this point and time all yours truly can do is hope someone will send in a monetary love gift. If you would like to send a love gift to the ministry the address will be listed below. Please note that the ministry has not yet obtained tax exempt status so all love gifts  can only be treated as a Christmas or birthday gift. Which means there will be no tax write off if you send in a love gift,

You can send in you love gifts, in US dollars, to the following

Trial & Error } Website tip

When you create a website you may very well have a dozen or so ideas running through your brain.  Thus you will spend hours upon hours attempting your idea, Once your concept is finished. you publish it for all the world to see.  In the days to come and roll out the door you realize that visitors are failing to visit other pages on the website. Now you must make those changes you had hoped you would not need to do; after all if you fail to make changes then all your planning  and effort are out the door.Your end result is this; your idea of having two pages now come down to just one, and with perhaps the results you so desire.

How do you find out if something is working on your website? By using a counter that produces much needed data so you can make an informed decision.  For over ten years I have been using www.sitemeter.com because if give me all the data I need.

Case in point is the website titled Click Cents I had divided up the pages so pages would not look crowed and confusing.. Results were that people were visiting the lead page they were not moving on to the next page. End result was having to trim down the lead page and squeeze onto the page much needed data.

All and all I would need to say this to those who create websites:

  • Do not be afraid to try Give the idea a 1-3 month trial period before you make changes.
  • If you make a mistake admit your error and then repair the damage.
  • If you are working with tables do not create the table inside the website itself. Instead your website in a html editor such as Microsoft  Front Page or any other editor you are comfortable with. Creating a table within the website itself can produce  nasty results and then you may have to start from the very beginning.
  • If you are tired or sleepy walk away from your work and get some sleep. Creating a website when sleepy or tired can give you a false sense of security. Thus, you are prone to creating errors

Thank you for stopping by today. I trust that you have learned a little something out of the rambling. And of course I expect you to visit Click Cents and all of this carious pages. And now for a few free graphics for your website:

Three Things To Remember….

religious_12

as each day passes by so our shopping days until Christmas grow shorter and shorter. So I would like to take this time  and remind you of several things.

  • As each day passes the lines at various stores get longer and everyone’s nerves are on edge. The solution to this problem and to keep from wasting precious gas is to shop online. One such place you can shop is at Thunder Mall. With Thunder Mall you can shop in the comfort of your favorite chair right at home. Each store at Thunder Mall is an affiliate right from Amazon.com itself. So you would be shopping with confidence.
  • As 2012 draws to a close this writer needs to remind you that Thunderdome Ministries Network Inc  needs sponsors for next year. I do believe that this was mentioned in a blog entry titled WANTED. In said entry I do believe that things were mentioned as so you could choose which aspect of the ministry you may want to support.
  • Lastly I would like to mention to you the following: yours truly has not family whatsoever. Thus Christmas gets to truly be a drag all by itself. Yet there is a way that you could make this writers Christmas a little brighter by taking advantage of my Amazon.com Wish List.

May the Lord bless and keep you in everything you say and do.
