“Good Day!”

Allow me to ask you a question, then I will proceed; Do you remember a radio announcer by the name of Paul Harvey?   I know I sure do!  Just as a refresher here are a few quotes you may remember:

Sometimes we can get so caught-up in the hustle and bustle of the Christmas season that we forget something ever so simple. Christmas does not have to be high-tech. In fact it is about as low tech as you can get. And yet, well this may seem sappy and even Biblical but where along the line did society, as a whole, forget about, “our brothers keeper.”

As a Christian I see people in my church helping one another just like a family does. Yet, there is two parts of society that often seems to get neglected #1 those who are single and maybe with no family and #2 those who are in prisons both locally and globally.

Are we really our brothers keeper? or is that basic of basic principals gone down the ways of floppy disks and software no longer apt to keep-up with an ever changing world?

Im no sure if Paul Harvey was a simple man, and he may very well was. I would like to think he was one part of society, just like my church, who….knew how to be a “brothers keeper.” Instead of all the fighting and protests thats going on. Maybe one should ask a friend or neighbor, “can I be your brothers keeper?”

Believe it or not the principle of our brothers keeper ought to ring loud not just at Christmas time. Instead it ought to ring 365.4 days a year all over this place we call earth.

Housing Update 5/20/14

Yesterday I informed  you that I had not located a place to call my own. Furthermore I gave you a phone number of the church where you could assist if you so desired. That was over 24 hours ago. This entry will bring you up to speed as to what has transpired.

  1.  a house has opened up in the Flint Michigan area that belonged to someone at the church of church I attend. Listed price is around 24K, which is below what I have been approved for.
  2.  While coloring of a house is little concern it happens to be the very color I said I wanted  way back in October of 2013. Thus, I am getting what I prayed for.

Now I bet you are wondering if you can still assist right? And the answer is a big indeed and here is how.

  1. If you want to help with a financial gift please continue to follow the directions of yesterdays entry. Simply contact Faith City Church in Fenton Michigan by calling 1-810 570-2200 and ask how you can help with David Lieblers house.
  2. The second way you can help is by helping to fulfill a special Wish List that was created in Amazon which can be located @ http://amzn.com/w/9H6VZ2GSGZ4Y

Since this is my first house and a “man cave” everything except the kitchen sink will be needed. As you look through the Wish List you may be able to see themes taking place. Cases in point;  Bathroom: Pirate/Tall Ship theme   Living Room: Cars/Transportation  Master Bedroom: Space/NASA/Hubble  Second Bedroom: converted to den/TV room

Please note the following: a move in date has not been set as of yesterday. However, it could transpire by the end of June.

Therefor, moving into an empty house is truly not preferred.

Mind you of this one very thing: It is God who pulled this together and I can account this to  another “infallible proof” of just how much HE cares for one of His people. But make no mistake about it this very God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob uses people on this planet to manifest Himself. So the  final question comes down to this:

Will you be used of God to assist someone in the faith and knowledge of Jesus Christ?

The Real Wolverine: Speak Life

Sometime ago I shared with you about the plight of one certain animal name The Wolverine. I thought I would share with you some video of the real Wolverine. By doing so it will shed light on … reality.

Mind you that Michigan is called the Wolverine State. While at one time the Wolverine roamed freely there is now no record a single creature roaming free in the state. In fact, and as far as this writer knows, the only Wolverines one can see are held captive in the Detroit Zoo in Oakland County Michigan.

It is my hope that people not just in Michigan will start to care about this little creature but people from all walks of life. This creature, this Wolverine like so many creatures of the wilds needs our help. Not just in talk but in deed. This creature, called a Wolverine, needs to be re-introduced into the wilds of the state of Michigan soon. Now, today, ask yourself, ask others how you can help.

In Christian circles we say “Speak Life” but it seems only pertaining  to our self. Why not speak life to the creatures that also inhabits this planet? Lets make a change . Lets make a change starting today.

The following video is about 45 minutes long. If it appears I hope it sheds light on a creature God create for a certain reason and that’s to live. Do we not have the obligation to help it?

Recommened Reading

In our walk with God we are given something special and that is the decision wether to learn more about God or not. For many the choice is simple, they not only want to learn more but they almost crave it. In so doing they pick up the works with the likes of Spurgeon, Sparks and so forth. Why?To gain some knowledge from those who are perhaps a little wiser .

Today’s entry is rather simple: I plan on referring you to material whose authors are much wiser than myself. I hope that you will embark on a journey to grow and mature in your own walk with God.

  1.   The Pursuit of God (The Definitive Classic)
  2.   The Reality of the Cross of Christ (Christian Library)
  3.   The Measure of a Man: Twenty Attributes of A Godly Man
  4.   Why Revival Tarries
  5. The Normal Christian Life

It is not often I recommend books to you so I would hope that you would take the above list and put it aside for a rainy day, perse.. The following book I personally own and suggest you add it to your own library for a time of study in the book of Psalms:

The Treasury of David (3 Volumes Set)

May God open the eyes of your heart to see the very God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob the works of whom has more wisdom than myself.

Felons: The New Minority

Lets just say for a moment you did a crime against society and you were sentenced to do time in prison You do your time and are released. Thus you are a free man or women or are you?                                                                                                            007

It seems that somewhere in time society has been allowed to discriminate  people with felony convictions. Thus society has created a new minority and it comes I believe strait from those in Washington DC and filtered down to the common folk known as J.Q. Public.

Don’t believe me? With the invention/discovery of the World Wide Web came also the discovery of background checks. It started out for the public to see who was living next door and around the corner. Now it has filtered into not only the work place but also housing units including what is known as Low Income or Section 8 Housing. To  top it off any person with a felony can not gain access to Section 8 Housing for the remainder of his or her life.  Thus any person, and I mean it could be your very own son or daughter, could never obtain a roof of their head unless s/he obtains help from a friend.

Is this fair to any person who has a felony record? Some may think so but it is not and it needs to stop before someone gets hurt or dies.

Are people with felonies being discriminated? The answer is yes. And now society has another case of Martin Luther King.  Rosa Parks and so forth. And thus, things need to change very quickly before it becomes to late for someone, somewhere.  What could happen you ask? Lets say a person with a felony conviction were disabled in one form or another. He or she very well may be taking medications and is seen by he doctor on regular basis. His one problem may not be getting to the doctors or to the pharmacy but where s/he could live in peace and without fear of reprisal. Thus. s/he needs to get into a low income housing unit but how to do so in this society?

There may be an answer and it comes from the very goal and vision of Thunderdome Ministry itself; A Christian campus that would serve as a halfway home for former inmates. I am not talking about dorms but actual houses very similar to the very one you may be living in at this point in time. Start up costs would run into the double digits and better. Perhaps  a more exacting projection would be around fifty million dollars. This would bring in the buying of 100 acres and building 4 bedroom ranch styled houses and a chapel with a learning center and classrooms.

  • Are felons discriminated against? Yes and sometimes even by ministries sad to say.
  • Can it be stopped? Yes
  • Will he government help? Doubtful
  • Is there an answer? Yes
  • What is he answer? Jesus

In Gods Word we see Him  posed at a door knocking. What people need to do is to open the door and allow Him inside. This means both the rich and poor, sick and healthy. bond or free.  We  know he answer and it is Jesus, but will you open you door to help another?

Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave the drink?  When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?  Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

Matthew 25: 34-40

My question to you is as follows:  will you help those Jesus called he least of these? Or will you sit on the sidelines and watch?

IF you desire to assist text me a 1-248-295-1365 and ask for my mailing address where you can send in your support.

Remember, they need the help of the very elect of Christ to keep from returning to prison.

Are felons discriminated? Yes,God forbid

. Is there hope ? Yes

Rest Easy

Rest Easy

Author: Evangelist David Liebler

Date: Friday, April 04, 2014

This message is complements of one Andrew Peterson who wrote the song titled Rest Easy. In his song you could find many truths that perhaps will speak even to you in some special way, shape or form. Despite how the song ministers to us there seems to be a simple truth of the matter. However, before we get to the punch line, if you will let’s take a look how we got to this point.

When we were kids it seemed we always tried to be better than someone. Whether it be our friends, parents or even our brothers or sisters there was always some type of endeavor to prove we were the better. Remember how it was? You just had to build the better stack of leaves that fell in the fall. In the winter it was the best snowball or snow fort. In the Summer it was how well you mowed the lawn and trimmed the hedges and sidewalks.

On oh that dreaded lawn! Remember if you thought you missed a spot you just had to go and find it and make it right? There was no rest until it was made right by both your parents and yourself. You just knew it had to be perfect if you wanted to get paid for the task. There just was no rest whatsoever.

All this transferred itself into our adult life where we always strived for perfection until we frankly beat out the Jones if you will. You had to have the better house, the better car, the better television set and so on. In the era of CB’s it even was how far could you talk to someone: it was no longer if you could talk to your friend down the street, oh no. Instead it was what country could you talk to next legally/ And by George if you could not do it legally you would try the dark side by going to that certain person who could get you the right equipment for the least amount of price. All in all our life seems to be one of never being able to rest until we proved we were the best.

Does all this gong about move into the realm of our walk with God? Do we unknowingly going about trying to prove to God and other members of the household of faith who we are? Is there some form of doubt in our own mind that we just cannot rest until we prove something to someone and to God?

Let us take a look at Hebrews chapter four and see what it has to say:

Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.

For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.

For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.

For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works.

And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest.

Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief:

Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.

For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.

There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.

For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.

Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

Hebrews 4: 1-11

Now listen, if you will what Matthew Henry has to say about this issue of rest:

“The privileges we have under the gospel, are greater than any had under the law of Moses, though the same gospel for substance was preached under both Testaments. There have been in all ages many unprofitable hearers; and unbelief is at the root of all unfruitfulness under the word. Faith in the hearer is the life of the word. But it is a painful consequence of partial neglect, and of a loose and wavering profession, that they often cause men to seem to come short. Let us then give diligence, that we may have a clear entrance into the kingdom of God. As God finished his work, and then rested from it, so he will cause those who believe, to finish their work, and then to enjoy their rest. It is evident, that there is a more spiritual and excellent sabbath remaining for the people of God, than that of the seventh day, or that into which Joshua led the Jews. This rest is, a rest of grace, and comfort, and holiness, in the gospel state. And a rest in glory, where the people of God shall enjoy the end of their faith, and the object of all their desires. The rest, or sabbatism, which is the subject of the apostle’s reasoning, and as to which he concludes that it remains to be enjoyed, is undoubtedly the heavenly rest, which remains to the people of God, and is opposed to a state of labour and trouble in this world. It is the rest they shall obtain when the Lord Jesus shall appear from heaven. But those who do not believe, shall never enter into this spiritual rest, either of grace here or glory hereafter. God has always declared man’s rest to be in him, and his love to be the only real happiness of the soul; and faith in his promises, through his Son, to be the only way of entering that rest.”

John Darby’s Commentary reads as follows

“The apostle goes on to apply this part of Israel’s history to those whom he was addressing, laying stress on two points: 1st, That Israel had failed of entering into rest, through unbelief; 2nd, That the rest was yet to come, and that believers (those who were not seeking rest here, but who accepted the wilderness for the time being) should enter into it. “

According to Torry, Smith’s Bible Dictionary, Easton’s Bible Dictionary the meaning of the word rest is as follows:

Rest

Restitution

Restoration

.

From answersingenesis.org I came across this that may be of interest to some readers:

The ‘rest’ of Hebrews 4 clearly refers to the Kingdom of God. This type of rest was alluded to right back at the time of creation, as well as at the time of the Exodus. Nowhere in the text is it equated with the seventh day of creation, nor is there any grammatical or contextual data suggesting any such equation. Thus, the progressive creationists’ claim that the seventh day of creation is still continuing is without any exegetical foundation whatsoever, making it a worthless argument for non-literal creation days.

http://www.answersingenesis.org/articles/tj/v13/n2/rest

If the word rest truly means Rest, Restitution and Restoration:

Does this mean that we are attempting to pay God back for what He has done?

You think about that for a moment and in so doing ask yourself this question: Am I trying to pay back God? Frankly, if what Jesus said on the cross when He said “It Is Finished” is correct then we are going about trying to simply pay Him back when there is no need to whatsoever.

Therefore it simply comes down to this in worldly terms: that snow fort you tried to make perfect it is already done. That perfect snowball has already been accomplished. But wait, this also means one other thing and it has to do with your level of doubt in this entire situation.

Have you ever went fishing off the banks of some river? If you put no worm on that hook you could try all the live long day and still catch nothing. So you strive from seven in the morning until three in the afternoon and still have not caught a single fish. Thus there was truly no rest for what was to be your lazy Saturday and you were spouse to wash the car at high noon.

But wait, lets say you bated that hook what do you think would have transpired? It is true to form that if you give a fish something to eat they will tend to tell everyone about it and by high noon you would have caught not only your limit but was able to enjoy the remainder of the day with a washed car and being plopped down in front of the television set able to watch your favorite team in peace and quiet, unless that is a certain someone has given you a honey do list so long you would think it was a Christmas list Santa got from some kid down the street.

The point of the matter is as follows:

1. As Christians we have nothing to prove to God and to others in the faith.

2. We do not have to ever defend God for anything whatsoever. God is very able to defend Himself and more than likely has been doing quite well at the task anyway.

3. Accept the fact that when Jesus said “It Is finished” accept Him at His Word.

4. Realize that you do not have to repay God anything for what He has done.

5. If there is or has been any form of doubt ask His forgiveness and move onward.

I don’t know about you but I feel good when I mow a lawn or trim a hedge and see that it is in such a menner that I can take a long rest until it needs cutting again.

Thus, I can truly
