Year End Salute } To You!

As anyone who ever took a Creative Writing course in collage can tell you the hardest part about writing is knowing what to say. And frankly writing material for others is truly not an easy task. When I first starting writing entries to my two blog I did not know what to put down on paper. After all look at all the other blogs on the World Wide Web, there are thousands upon thousands and yours truly is only a mere speck amongst them all.

As of today I have learned that this blog has at least 266 followers. That my friend is far more than my blog at the other location at http://thundersstorms.blogspot.com/ which actually is the birthplace of my blogging experience. Now I frankly do not think that I will ever win any awards for this blog but still you, the reader and follower already make me feel like a winner and for that I want to say the following:

What is in store for 2014? What will be penned? Well as you all know no one can tell what is in store for us as time marches forward. However, as my English teacher said, “You can only write about the thins you know and or wish upon for yourself.” Thus, I can only share with you exactly like that teacher so said.

Will I make spelling and grammar errors? more than likely yes. Is yours truly a member of the human race prone to error? Of course I am and if I were not I would be only another robot from some Star Wars movie.

So I hope you will return often in the days, weeks and months ahead as the pen again puts down words, phrases, sentences and paragraphs for your reading enjoyment. Again I thank you for reading this ones entries in the year 2012 & 2013!

Oh BTW… this may not be my last entry for the year. Just something that needed to be said.

Friendly Reminder

In a previous post I made mention of two websites that very well may see its discontinuation. This is mostly due to the lack of visitors and peoples participation. The proposed date for their deletion will be on December 31st before the clock strikes midnight.

Lesson to be learned from one webmaster to another: Sometimes a webmaster will create a site s/he thinks will go over well. And despite all efforts it becomes far from the truth. Thus, the only way either or both of the above mentioned sites would remain into the 2014 would be that visitors actually interacted with the various pages. But for now both seem doomed by the wrecking ball. As stated some pages within each website could make their way into my personal website Littlethunders Castle going into the new year.

Your Website

This entry is more than likely over due so I will make it brief.

Do you remember many entries ago I mentioned that you should have at least a Christmas theme on your website this time of year? This serves three purposes: number one it brings people to your site that perhaps have not visited in a while and number two it secretly informs visitors that you are always working on your website to keep thins fresh. And number three is that you are at least updating your website at a rate of every three to six months.

Today, since it is so close to Christmas I will share with you several links where you can get graphics for your website. You, as the webmaster of your site or other sites can use animated or still graphics on a website. However, keep this in mind’ the more graphics you use the longer it may take for the site to come up, thus you truly do not want to over do it.

To get you started I added some graphics from my own files that I keep on hand. Merry Christmas and enjoy!

Stick To Yer Guns

This entry may be a bit lengthy but I would like to make several points. Thus if you get boarded you are free to bookmark this entry and return at a later time. With that said allow me to proceed.

During my recent ordeal I heard advice from several people of the family of God. Their advice was sound and sometimes even harsh when it was necessary, I knew they all were well meaning and attempting to point me into the right direction. But sometimes even when you know full well they are right there also be another way.

One certain thing I had to take into consideration is this. God is not the author of confusion. And at times yours truly felt as if he were on a carousel that just did not seem to have rhyme or reasoning. So what does one do in cases like I was going through.

Consider your health. God created you to be who you are. He has done this from the time of Adam until forever. Know your limitations and be careful.. If you attempt to push the boundaries you will pay a price as I did. And the road to recovery could be long.
Remember what God has done for you in the past. If God did things for you in a certain manner then He is bound to do the same thing time and time again. I call it a comfortable pattern. A pattern that God know you can handle.
Stand fast in His Word. Continue reading/listening to His Holy Word. By so doing you build up your most holy faith. I choose to listen to Gods Word as the scripture says faith comes by hearing and hearing the Word of God. If you think your not doing any good by reading His Word you press on and continue. That Word is getting into you even if you don’t think so.
Enjoy what is around you. When God created this planet He did so for many reason. One of those reasons is so you can enjoy and use what is around you.
Never loose heart. God, the very God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob has a plan for your life even if you can not see it or understand it. Even if everyone is against you God is not.
Stick to yer Guns, Sometimes people will tell you one thing that just does not seem right between you and God. Stick to your guns and go where God is leading you, as long as it is legal. Never stick to your guns if the path is illegal. Always stay within the law. It was suggested that I go to a homeless shelter for a day or two. While that sounds good, and you may have to go that route, I stuck to my guns and waited for God to act. Now I will tell you that it may seem foolish but watch what took place: within one hour God provided a choice of two different places to stay. Mind you I had to make a few phone calls but it was Him who really opened the doors.
Be thankful always. Yes its hard to thank God for things when your in a storm. But even in the midst of the storm the lighthouse still shines her light for safe passage. If your not thankful some may consider you ungrateful.

I have been serving the Lord since 1982 and I can say with confidence this very thing:

Your faithfulness to Him has its own rewards in the end.

Where Do We Go From Here?

Every once in a while a storm will blow through our life and somehow, someway we survive. During the storm one needs to realize the following’

You are not alone
Somewhere you have a friend or two that cares to some degree or another.
Find the strength that you have within you. After all you have been in storms before.So pick up from those lessons you learned.
As you go through your storm realize that there is an ending; even if you can not see it

As I pen this I am going through my own storm and it is very tough to say the least. Allow me to explain.

Where I presently reside I have been paying rent for the last fifteen(15) years. I have never been late, not even once. They have not had to call the police even once. Might say I have been a rather quiet renter. Then a bombshell hit from the Landlord, “we want you moved out by October 15th” their reasoning, they want to tear down the house from top to bottom.

I just turned sixty in the later part of July of this year. My health is one that more than likely would not survive the cold hard facts of the winter months. Yet, through this storm, through it all I know there is an another, the light at the end of the tunnel if you will.

There is one hope at this point and it lies in a little place in Fenton Michigan and a place called Dauner Haus for those with disabilities and low income. While this maybe the very light at the end of the tunnel one has to ask this very question, “will this opening take place in the nick of time or will i be living on the streets like some homeless person?”

There is two things I know at this point and it comes from previous tough times:

Every person, where they believe it or not has a friend named Jesus. See John 15:13 “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends..”
If you are a member of the family of God you have a support system. Furthermore, they care for you and ought to be willing to assist to get you off your feet and into a better situation. In the book of Acts Paul write that ” And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common. And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all. Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold, And laid them down at the apostles’ feet: and distribution was made unto every man according as he had need.” Acts 4:32-35
Does the solution come like a flash of lightning in the sky? Sadly the answer is no and I can tell you why. Those spiritual storms, as we call them today, are really what is known as a consuming fire to drive out any impurities that would keep us from really serving the KING of kings. For you see HE wants HIS people pure and holy ready to do the work HE has for us. So please d not freak out if the solution comes in a matter of moments, Yet the solution will come indeed.

When will my storm end? Only God knows the answer to this
Will the family of God truly assist? In some ways they already have. However there is much yet to do until the light at the end of the tunnel appears.
Will all help that are part of the family of God? Not everyone knows or will know of the situation and God has a reason for this. Yet HE will find the right people at the right time for this to come to a positive end.
Will there assistance put a damper on friendships? That, dear reader, is entirely up to each and every person. As part of the family of God each storm that they assit a person through only adds more and more experience to their future.

Here is a few tips for you if you go through your own spiritual storm.

Continue to read God’s Word
Continue to talk to God in a real and truthful manner. If you are scared tell Him. He already knows how you feel but He wants to hear it from you directly. Some will tell you that you should put on a big smile and not be fearful and press on like a good soldier. While parts of that is true you need to realize something that I learned long time ago; the men in the days of Rome had real feelings and yes real fear. Now hear me out, certain types of fear should not be tolerated. While others could save your life as well.
Stay close to the family of God. Do not back out of attending church or church functions. The family of God needs you as much as you need them.

Remember dear reader, that you are not alone. You have, or should have support from your family of God until the light at the end of the tunnel is before your face.

Until we meet again via this medium or face to face may God bless you and guide you in all that you do.

If you are wondering were I will be living after October 15 our guess is as good as mine. I believe at this pint in time I will be living on Gods good graces. So let us pray in agreement that God will have the right place before the stated date amen?

Website Tip for May 2013

If you are a follower of this blog I sure am sorry for not writing more. However, it is rather hard to come up with a new topic ever time. This entry may be a little short but I desire to get right to the point so you can return to your life.

When we create a website we desire to tell some sort of story or even to advertise a product that may be on hand. One thing a Webmaster needs to know is that of the use of the HTML coding without it you would not have a website.

Keep It simple: Over the years many Webmasters have tried to create website using Flash. However, over a period of several months they found out that it takes a website longer to arrive using Flash than using straight html codes. If a visitor has to wait over 15 seconds he has waited far to long and you lose a visitor and many more behind him. So keep your website simple and to the point.
Music & Videos I think it is rather cool to have videos and music on a website. However, many visitors do not like it when they get to a website and the music or video is blasting away within the first few seconds. If you want to install a video or music let there be an option to the visitor if they want to hear or see the material. As for myself I very well could be watching a program on TV or listening to the radio in the privacy of my own place and whatever music or video your playing very well could mess up ones frame of thinking.
Advertisements & Affiliates… It is bad enough that a person has to endure advertisements on the television but on the World Wide Web it can be way to much. Instead of plastering your website with ten or fifteen banners cut it down to something between one and five. If you have a multi-paged website you could insert a few on each page to spread them out.
Your first Website: IF you want to build your first website I suggest the following: visit other websites and see what the latest trends are taking place. What is trendy today may not be trendy today may not be tomorrow or in the next few months. Get a feel for what is out there on the World Wide Web. Also you may want to start collecting pictures and backgrounds as you never know what you may want to put into your website even months down the road.

Good News

Hebrews 11:6“And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.”

Allow me to ask you a question: If you knew of a way to start your day would you try it for at least 90 straight days?

The answer is not in a cup of coffee. Nor in a breakfast bar or bowl of some cereal. The answer is found between the leather covers of a book that in itself contains some sixty-six books. That book is called the Bible other wise known as God’s Holy Word. Now allow me to share with you how that Holy Book can change your life.

For you see the very Word of God gives life to the lifeless. It gives hope to the hopeless. And yes it gives victory to the defeated. The sweetest part of it all is it is all free of charge because the price has already been paid.

Every morning for the next 90 days start your day with God and God alone. Do not turn the radio or TV on but turn on the KING of kings and here is what you need to do;

Read at least four chapters of Gods Word every morning. If you do not know where to begin then start with the book of Romans in the New Testament.
Spend time talking to the Lord. You will find much to talk about just like Abraham, Isaac and Jacob did. Your prayers do not need to be sweet and pretty. But they need to be truthful. If I am hurting I tell Him just that. If I have a question I ask Him. God wants to hear from you.
Engage in some honest praise and worship time. You see there are these two facts I learned about. First He delights in hearing from the praises of His people. And then He actually inhabits the praises of His people. Even when I pen these writings I have praise and worship taking place in the background so I am fixed on Him.

I hope you will take the advise mentioned above and use it faithfully. I think you will find that starting your day with HIM is better than anything you may every know.

What Can You Do?

Being legally disabled I guess give me a special eye for things around me. Thus, I see the needs of those like me and have a way to share those needs by use of the internet blogs.

For example: did you know that those who are legally disabled are not classified as on “welfare?” Those who are disabled very well, just like myself, not allowed to work due to possible threats of injury and so forth.

Being disabled also means having a very limited income to do the things s/he may want to do. For example: because money is often so tight one may not be able certain events such as movies or concerts. Or it could mean that one can not have a good music/ movie collection. So while you may be able to listen to the latest music cd one who is disabled has to listen to something much older.

Here is how you can help those who are disabled in your community or at your place of worship:

Offer to take someone with you to a concert or event even if you have to pay for his or her ticket.
Offer your friendship in a non-biding manner. In other words offer to be someone friend for the pure sake of helping someone else instead of only trying to get something out of it for yourself.
Do you have music cd’s or movie dvds you no loner watch or listen to? How about freely giving them to someone who is less off than yourself. For example; I collect movie dvds and my collection is in the 108 range at last count. I for one would enjoy adding more dvd’s to my collection. Or I love Christian music by the Newsboys, Seven Day Jesus, and Michael W. Smith but I just do not have the funding to buy the latest music cd.
Or how about this for something to do: offer to drive someone to their doctors or dentist appointment at no cost to them.
Are you going to a MLB or NBA game? Or even to a concert or to a museum? Off to take them with you even if you have to pay for their ticket or entrance fee. Don’t buy the ticket and then ask for them to re-reimburse you!
I hope that this blog entry has inspired you to assist and befriend someone who is less off than yourself. Furthermore I hope that if you choose to assist someone else that you will not just make it a one time ordeal but that you will be there for them in the time of need.

After all I do believe that even Jesus Himself would classify someone who is disabled as”the least of theses.”

Prayer Requests

Luke 9:23-24“Then he said to them all: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me. For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will save it.”

Over the course of several months I have shared with you tips and tricks to having a nice website, I have freely let you download various graphics to help you build that website with a little bit of class, if you will, Now I am going to share with you a prayer request that I trust you will earnestly become part of. So allow me to share with you what the prayer request actually is.

Over the course of all my years I have rented apartments that were converted attics and such. The rent was always cheap and the utilities were always included., The down side was that there always was little critters scurrying about various times during the day. One place I lived was next to a bar and I think you can guess what that was like on Friday and Saturday nights.

Presently I am on a “waiting list” to get into a normal apartment for those with low income. A vital aspect is that it will be only a few minutes drive to church instead of nearly an hour drive..

Here is my prayer requests

Please pray that my wait time will be cut down and that I can move in before the end of the summer of 2013.
Next I will need furniture for the home office, living room, bedroom, and kitchen. The bed I would need a platform bed or a sleep by number bed due to having issues with my spine. It is with great hopes that all the furniture be from Art Van as I like their styles the best.

Please note: I am not asking you to send funds to help with this move. I am however asking for your prayers. This move will not be just from one street to another in the city where I live now. It is moving into a new city and a new county where I will know where only a few places are located;

Beware of those in sheep’s clothing who are raging wolves

The wolf has gotten into the borders of these United States, Little by little parts of our government are being torn apart. Furthermore our rights to Religious freedom are being taken over by that very wolf . In some cases the wolf has been allowed to enter into our Christian churches with what we now know as a Social Gospel.

Are the end times here? Yes and what is sad is this: many, who call themselves Christians are giving into the Beast aka the wolf.

What is sad is this…. many who profess to be Christians have allowed the beast not only inot the very House of God but into their homes and workplace.

Be careful what you desire as you may et it thinking that the gift is from above when it is infarct from the enemy below.

Trial & Error } Website tip

When you create a website you may very well have a dozen or so ideas running through your brain. Thus you will spend hours upon hours attempting your idea, Once your concept is finished. you publish it for all the world to see. In the days to come and roll out the door you realize that visitors are failing to visit other pages on the website. Now you must make those changes you had hoped you would not need to do; after all if you fail to make changes then all your planning and effort are out the door.Your end result is this; your idea of having two pages now come down to just one, and with perhaps the results you so desire.

How do you find out if something is working on your website? By using a counter that produces much needed data so you can make an informed decision. For over ten years I have been using www.sitemeter.com because if give me all the data I need.

Case in point is the website titled Click Cents I had divided up the pages so pages would not look crowed and confusing.. Results were that people were visiting the lead page they were not moving on to the next page. End result was having to trim down the lead page and squeeze onto the page much needed data.

All and all I would need to say this to those who create websites:

Do not be afraid to try Give the idea a 1-3 month trial period before you make changes.
If you make a mistake admit your error and then repair the damage.
If you are working with tables do not create the table inside the website itself. Instead your website in a html editor such as Microsoft Front Page or any other editor you are comfortable with. Creating a table within the website itself can produce nasty results and then you may have to start from the very beginning.
If you are tired or sleepy walk away from your work and get some sleep. Creating a website when sleepy or tired can give you a false sense of security. Thus, you are prone to creating errors
